Some wounds won’t heal, until you confront them.

An abused child, now grown, is still haunted by his past. Will therapy be enough for him to find closure, or will it take a more hands on approach?

Charlie Jones (Jason Wiechert), is haunted by a childhood that was filled with repeated sexual and physical abuse at the hands of Martin (Michael Hanelin), a close family friend.  Charlie attempts, with the guidance of his court appointed therapist, Dr. Elena Shepherd (Jane Fendelman) to come to terms with his past and, ultimately, find closure, heal, and let go of the heavy burden he’s been carrying for so many years. If he allows the darkness within to come to the forefront and shatter all the walls of protection he’s built up, will he shine a light on that darkness and dissolve it, or be consumed by it?

Each will be taken on a journey of internal truth, reflection, and self-realization in order to move past their loss. The question is who will succomb to grief and who will not.

A failing economy makes pursuing this dream tougher than they imagined. Their lives change dramatically when Kent's street-hardened teenage niece, Summer, is sent to live with the family after her mother, Ava is arrested and incarcerated. Life with the Walsh family is a dramatic change for Summer- rules, respect, and faith have been missing from her life. When she is expected to pitch in with the family business, Summer lashes out. When she runs away from home, her behavior threatens the already tense situation.

Caring for two of the horses in particular, Dakota and Bella, gives Summer something thats been missing from her life- a connection to a living thing that relies on her attention. When Bella falls ill, the Walsh's already strained finances force them to make the difficult decision to use their dwindling savings to save Bella.

After Summer makes the decision to do the wrong thing for the right reason, a community discovers the meaning of forgiveness, and Summer realizes this is the only place she has ever been where people really care about her.
